Does my dog need to be spayed or neutered?
No, we do not require dogs to be spayed or neutered, however do request that females in season not be brought during that time.
How old does my dog have to be to board?
We require them to have a minimum of 2 rounds of Distemper/Parvo shots.
Are there specific drop-off & pick-up times?
You can drop-off and pick-up for boarding anytime within our open hours.  We suggest to drop them off before 5 PM to get acclimated before bedtime. Pick-ups after 12 PM will be charged $20 as a late pickup fee.
What requirements are there for boarding?
Your dog must be non-aggressive and be current on distemper/parvo & rabies vaccine.  Bordetella is highly recommended but not required.
How much time will my dog spend alone?
Your dog will be in his/her own place for meals and bedtime. During the day your dog will be in one of our play areas socializing with other dogs and getting lots of TLC from Double J Staff, if they are social.
Will there be anyone there overnight?
No we do not have overnight staff, however we let dogs out a final time between 9-10pm. Your dog will be safe and secure in his/her own private place at night. For your peace of mind and the safety of the dogs, we do have 24-hour monitoring for fire and security.
Will my dog get sick being around other dogs?
We try to stay on top of any possible illness and take necessary precautions. However just like with kids at school or daycare, viruses may be passed between dogs. If your dog comes down with anything contagious, he/she must stay home until your vet says it’s okay to return.
What happens if my dog gets hurt?
If it’s an emergency, we will transport him/her to the nearest 24-hour vet immediately and then call you and/or your emergency contact. If it is a non-emergency, we will try to reach you or your emergency contact first to see how you would like us to handle it. Just like if your child is at daycare. Just as kids get scratches and bruises from playing rough, dogs can do that same. We try our best to monitor and make sure nothing happens, but accidents do still happen.
What should I bring for my dog's overnight stay?
Current food/treats [enough for their entire stay and maybe some extra in case of traveling challenges, inclement weather, or other unexpected surprises], current medications, a couple of toys from home. We do not allow bedding, but you can bring a small blanket.
My dog is on medication for a health condition. Can you still take them?
We are happy to accommodate for most medications and health needs. Please contact us directly so that we can discuss your pets’ condition and specific healthcare needs together.
Can my dogs stay together in the same suite?
Yes, if your dogs live together, they can stay together at our facility. Unfortunately, if they do not live together they cannot board together in the same kennel.
How long is a full day of daycare?
A full day is anything over 4 hours.
Is there a minimum daycare attendance requirement?
Double J does not have a minimum requirement; however, we do recommend that you come at least once per week for the sake of your dog. Attending daycare is a social skill which the dogs need to practice. Dogs who attend only occasionally usually don’t enjoy daycare as much and may find it stressful.
How old does my dog have to be to attend daycare?
We require them to have a minimum of 2 rounds of Distemper/Parvo shots as puppies before coming to daycare. Rabies will be required after 4 months old. We also require an evaluation to make sure our daycare environment is a good match with your dog.
What happens if I'm late to pick up my dog?
A courtesy phone call would be expected. Late fees may apply. If you have not picked up your dog by 6pm M-F, your dog will be boarded with us overnight and you will be responsible for boarding costs.
What are the holiday hours?
We only close daycare on 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Are there nap times during the day?
There are not designated nap times because most dogs will take a break on their own. However, if you would like your dog to be separated for any part of the day for downtime, please let us know and we will try to accommodate you.
Should I bring anything besides my dog?
We ask that you don’t bring anything for daycare besides your dog and a leash to safely get them in and out of the building.
Does my dog need flea & tick preventative?
We highly recommend that all dogs be on flea & tick preventative. If they come in with live fleas, we will have to give them a flea bath or they will be sent home. Owner’s will be charged accordingly.
There is a lot of barking when I drop off my dog. Is it always like this?
Absolutely not! The dogs always get excited when a new dog arrives and/or when visitors stop by. We take your dog outside immediately and may wait a little while before putting them in a play area, this gives the other dogs a chance to calm down before they greet the new dog. Within just a couple of minutes, the dogs settle down and everything is back to normal.
Will Double J feed my dog during the day?
If you dog requires lunch, we will be happy to feed any provided food for them.  However, sometimes dogs are not interested in eating as they are more interested in playing with all their friends.
What vaccinations are required?
We require rabies, distemper/parvo combo and HIGHLY recommend Bordetella.
Will my dog get sick by being around so many other dogs?
We try to stay on top of any possible illness and take necessary precautions. However just like with kids at school or daycare, viruses may be passed between dogs. If your dog comes down with anything contagious, he/she must stay home until your vet says it’s okay to return.
If I purchase a full day package, can I put it towards boarding?
Full day packages may only be used towards a full day daycare. They may not be used for half days or boarding. Half day packages can be used toward full days though.
Does my dog need to be spayed or neutered?
No, we do not require dogs to be spayed or neutered, however we do request the females in season not be brought during that time. In addition, if we have more than one intact male, we will have to rotate them in daycare due to the fact we never put two intact males together.
Can I bring my dog any day at any time?
Unfortunately, we do ask that you have a reservation or make plans ahead of time to bring your dog in, we do fill up on certain days occasionally. Also, we have dogs that come on set days and if your dog doesn’t get along with those dogs already it helps us plan accordingly so everyone can enjoy daycare and have as much time out as possible.
